Zero Dependency

I made lumin.guru. I started it as an astrology tool, but pretty soon I understood that was not really what I was building. Astrology is not one thing. It is many domains, Vedic on one side, Krishnamurti Paddhati on another, and a huge pile of calculations sitting under all of them. So I wanted to learn these from the ground level, properly, not from someone else's wrapper. That was the real idea from the start.

From there I wanted to build something universal, something you could actually use with modern AI tools. The thing I kept wondering about is why astrology asks people to memorize so much theory. There is so much of it, and most of it just sits in your head waiting. I did not want that. I wanted the connection between the theories to be the easy part.

So I built it to do two things well. Make the connections between theories, and calculate everything from the ground up, with no dependency on any development tool or library along the way. I started with zero dependency practices from the first line, and I held that line all the way through. Finally I made it, and it works.

Then I made it free for everyone. Anyone can connect the MCP server to Claude AI, the same way you would talk to something like ChatGPT, and get a reading for free. That was the whole goal. No paywall sitting between a person and their own chart.

It is open for developers now too. Anyone can build their own astrology application on top of it, or anything that touches timing and predictions. The calculations are right there, from the ground up, ready to build on.

So if you are wondering whether to build something from the ground up, my answer is yes. Zero dependency is the way to go, especially in the astrology domain, where the calculations are the whole point. Build it from the ground up, and you actually own what it does.
