Vercel's All-In Bet
Eve is the new agentic framework from Vercel, and they are calling it the new agentic era, the same move they made with Next.js. It launched on the 17th of June 2026, and I have been going through their documentation ever since.
The part that made me happy is the timing. I was already building an agent project while Eve was shipping, and I had walked the same path the framework lays out. That gave me a real sense of satisfaction, because it told me my thinking was lined up with where this is heading.
The concern is the same one I have with Next.js. It looks locked in, as usual. But I am fairly sure they will make it available everywhere over time, because Vercel Workflows and the AI SDK move hand in hand inside this framework, and that combination is too strong to keep boxed in.
I have not gone deep yet. I will do a full research pass later and really sit with it. For now I think we just have to wait and see where it goes. It is still early, and I am holding my call until I understand it properly.
What I do like is that it is open source, and it is genuine motivation and inspiration for everyone to build something reasonable and valuable. I keep being impressed by the Vercel products themselves. I feel they are pushing into agentic frameworks and real workflows harder than anyone else, and that is exactly why this has an all-in feeling around the agentic infra. Now it is time to go deeper.
